As we are all aware living costs are becoming a serious challenge so I just wanted to make as many people as possible aware of the Clergy Support Trust who offer grants for a whole host of things including heating costs. Please do check out their website as there may be all sorts of things they can potentially help with. It is also worth checking whether your diocese has any hardship grants or can point you towards other grant making bodies – we benefitted hugely from these when we were in our previous very large and chilly vicarage. There is no shame in reaching out for help – most stipendary clergy do not get to choose their housing so it seems fair enough to me that they get help if they are struggling to cover the running costs with their stipend.
